Dr. Matzner is Chiropractor Physician of the Year 2010

DOUGLAS MATZNER, DC NAMED CHIROPRACTIC PHYSICIAN OF THE YEAR

Awarded by Illinois Chiropractic Society at Annual Convention

Savoy, IL—October 27, 2010—Douglas Matzner, DC has been named Chiropractic Physician of the Year by the Illinois Chiropractic Society (ICS). He was honored at their annual convention October 1-3 at the Westin Chicago Northwest.

“This award means a great deal to me and my staff,” said Dr. Matzner, a practicing chiropractic physician for over 28 years. “To be honored like this by my fellow colleagues is something that is very special to me.”

ICS has awarded this honor each year since 1956. The recipient is chosen by a committee that includes past presidents of the Society along with prior recipients of the award.

“Dr. Matzner has been a major advocate for not only the Illinois Chiropractic Society, but for the profession as a whole,” said Marc Abla, Executive Director of ICS. “He has also been instrumental in recruiting key stakeholders to our organization. Dr. Matzner stands out by his dedication to his profession and to the Society.”

Dr. Matzner completed his professional training in 1981 at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL. He has earned fellowship status in the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture and is a board-certified Diplomat of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He has been certified as a primary care physician, and certified in whiplash diagnosis/treatment and rear-impact automobile crash reconstruction.

Dr. Matzner has been deeply involved in the Illinois Chiropractic Society, having served as President in 2003 and 2004. He has also been a long-time supporter of the Champaign County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), which provides legal services to children who have been abused or neglected.
