Nutrional Support

nutrition-pic.gifWhen the body is lacking proper nutrition, is stressed or is in a disordered state, nutritional supplementation may be beneficial. I have seen these benefits numerous times first hand as well as through published research articles.

Nutritional supplementation can include herbal formulas, minerals, vitamins, amino acids, and other compounds from various plants. These are all simply labeled as “dietary supplements.” They vary, however, in terms of quality and content so it is wise to seek guidance to ensure you are choosing the right ones for you and are actually getting what you pay for.

At Matzner Clinic, we are proud to feature top-quality supplements from Metagenics and Creating Wellness Alliance. In fact, we are so sure of them, that they are the very ones we take too! If you have questions regarding which supplements would benefit you, please ask me. I am happy to help!

The Echinacea Story

The fact is it is one of the most clinically studied herbs in the world. There are nine species of this botanical, all native to the Midwest, and commonly called purple coneflower or snakeroot. The American Indians used it more than any other plant to fight a variety of illnesses. It was used externally for burns, wounds and insect bites, and internally for all types of infection, toothache, and as an antidote for rattlesnake bites. While many eclectics and some physicians continued to use it throughout the 1900s, it wasn’t until 1980 that its immune-enhancing powers were rediscovered and popularized.
